The Yard Brigade

Last night we had some VERY generous friends donate their time to our yard. I love our yard, but man is it a PROJECT! Jason and I are not "green thumb, love to weed and be in the dirt" kind of people. We had made a trip to the nursery this past weekend and came home with 10 trees to plant and 3 more from a previous trip. With the help of our friends, we got all but 4 planted! Our bishop came over with his chainsaw and made quick work of our over grown scrub oak. I wish I had before pictures because even though it still looks a little overgrown, it doesn't even COMPARE to what it looked like before. We have hopes to put a fire pit and stationery swing in there eventually. It was a hard three hours of work but so worth it. We still have a ways to go but it feels so good to have made a start!

Looks great! I know the feeling, the yard sometimes feels like laundry to me--never ending! ;-) I have no green thumb know-how. This weekend is our tree-planting project.

Hey, when you someday print your blog, are you planning to use a specific service/program?

i actually drove by yesterday and was noticing how nice your trees look! very impressive! you should have called -- i have been a weeding machine lately, hoping it will get this baby out. no luck, but i'm getting some good yard work done! this will probably be the only weeding i do all summer! yikes!

Now that you've had all that practice, you can come over any time Nancy. Feel free to bring along your crew too, ha!
