Baby Ruth and Mother Jill

My dearest friend on the planet came to Utah for a short visit a week ago for her Grandmother's funeral. We have not seen each other in 10 years and we picked up just like we did when we were kids. Linda and I have known each other since we were 2 years old (I know people say that for emphasis but for us its really true!). She is an amazing stay at home mom to four cute kids and we realized during our time together how much we have in common as adults. I had the BEST time with Linda. I didn't want her to go home.

When Linda and I were younger we loved playing Barbie dolls. On one particular play date I made Linda be the Ken doll. I didn't have another girl, so naturally I wasn't going to give up Barbie myself. Linda took her anger out on poor Ken and broke his head off. I sent her home telling her not to come back until she replaced my Ken doll! Okay, so we made up eventually but Linda made sure to bring me a new Ken doll on her visit! We had a great laugh over that one. A couple then and now pictures...

We got Linda to play Guitar Hero! Of course she picked it up on her first try. I'm still trying to not get booed off the stage before the song is over!

i have to say i think i prefer the "before" picture. how fun to have a friend since you were two. wade's sister got guitar hero yesterday for her b-day. i didn't try it yet, but i'll have to some time. and then i was going to tell you (and tell jason i don't want to hear any complaining) that our lot is in the same ward as your new house.

I had the BEST time with you too! I miss you tons. If only we were still in the same neighborhood and could walk and meet on the corner...I will keep dreaming!

I'm so sad that I missed out on your little reunion! I would have loved to have seen you both!

How fun! Nancy...were you making those yummy looking sandwiches? Linda and I were drooling on the phone one day over those suckers! I would be so jealous if Linda acutally got to try the real thing.

No matter how old you and Linda get, I still picture you both as you were in 3rd grade! You look so cute!
