Okay, so I think I have reached that stage where my kids are starting to think I'm a lot older than I feel. Case in point...
We downloaded the old Super Mario Bros. to our Wii. Of course, I actually know how to play this game, unlike most of the other Wii games we own. I was playing it with Lauren and she couldn't believe how good I was doing (like I said, a rarity when I play the Wii) and asked me how I knew how to play this game. I told her I used to play this all the time when I was younger. She said, "they had this invented back then?"
Today I was taking Nathan and his cousin Andrew to one of our favorite parks in Kaysville. We passed Lagoon on the way and Nate asked his cousin (a definite dare devil) if he had been on the ride Wicked at Lagoon. He said that he hadn't because he wasn't old enough. Nate asked him how old do you have to be to ride it. Andrew replied, you know old...like your Mom.
I'm suddenly not so excited about my upcoming birthday.

I love it! Wondering if it had been "invented" back then.
Evan asked me once if we had paper when I was in school...
That is hilarious. You are so not old my friend. Just tell your kids when you play mario brothers that it is one of your many skills.
ella told me today that she's going to be able to take care of herself and make herself breakfast when she's 30 since i'm 30. i already feel old and seth is only in kindergarten. it's just downhill from here. now i feel like my mom when she always said she still felt 29 and i thought she was a big dork. nice.
Jack always forgets how old I am and will always guess anywhere from 39-64. Turning 32 was hard this year...good luck!
I love Lauren's toothless grin. Elise's other top tooth is hanging on by a thread, but she won't let me pull it. I think they look so cute with no teeth! I never imagined that I would have Elise loosing the exact teeth that Chase is now getting in. Weird! Hope all is well!

Just you wait until you turn 35! It's a killer! I still feel like I'm 20 even though I'm really getting up there in age!
I hear you. My kids will ask how old I am and then count by tens and panic, "30, 40, 50, 60, 70, OH my gosh you're gonna die soon and who will take care of us!?l!" Thanks for rubbing it in eh? 40 is going to be hard . . .
Your post reminds me of a story my friend Angie told me the other day about her daughter Ellie. They were talking about cell phones and Ellie said "Mom, did you text a lot when you were in high school?" When Angie said that they didn't have cell phones when she was in high school Ellie said after a minute "Did you know Jesus then?" Every time I think about it I laugh!
Don't worry, you still look like you are 20!
